Review:
Fresh off his contributions to Mark Ronson’s Uptown Special, Australian psych-rocker Kevin Parker takes a gentle left turn into disco. A beautiful, sparkling song as reminiscent of Diana Ross as Daft Punk and Pink Floyd, “Let It Happen” unfolds for nearly eight minutes into a haze of synthesizers and effects: part jam, part remix of itself. “It’s always around me, all this noise,” Parker sings in his high, airy voice. “But not really as loud as the voice saying/Let it happen, let it happen.”
